Kriezotou 3 Window. An Artist Exhibits

In October 2016, we had the unique opportunity to showcase our work at the N. Hadjikyriakos-Ghika Gallery, home of the Benaki Museum Shop. Our concept for the exhibition/happening can be summed up in one phrase: “one dress – one detail”. In practice, what this meant was a process of deconstructing and reformulating elements that were taken from the intricate adornment of a 17th century Cretan dress. By eliminating colors, changing scale and focusing on details concerning both existent and imaginary creatures we composed a post-modern image, at once nostalgic and contemporary.

The image, designed especially for this exhibition, was then applied onto wood, which was cut into various geometric shapes. The resulting items can be used as placemats, trays or as decorative artworks.
