The Project: The Athens pattern draws its inspiration from the historical center of Athens, specifically the area the Acropolis. Shapes and elements from ancient ceramics, linear compositions in the style of the Doric order, columns, tiles from the Philopappos Hill promenade, owls and the Athenian sun come together to form one of our most beloved pattern compositions. The design was then hand-printed onto natural fabrics by the last remaining printing house of this kind in Greece.
Whom we worked with: Natural Greek Fabrics is one of the oldest fabric and textile stores in Greece, currently located in the very center of Athens. Its distinctive aesthetic, mixing the postmodern with the traditional, is a perfect match for our own approach to style and design.
